Message of the Ambassador of Japan
On the Occasion of the Visit to Japan of Mr. Issa Al-Zadjali
A once experienced diplomat at
the dawn of
the Renaissance, a leading businessman,
and
an internationally renowned journalist
…,
Mr. Issa bin Mohammed Al-Zadjali,
is a person
with many talents.
But as I look to the real nature of the founder
and editor in chief of the Times
of Oman
I can see an ardent patriot who
has been
serving his country, the Sultanate
of Oman,
for years in journalism.
Mr. Issa will be leaving on July
7, for a
visit of 11 days to Japan to reveal the present-day of Japan through interviews with representatives from
different sections of society
and tours of
the Japanese cities. I personally enjoy the Omani newspapers where
you can read a variety of Japanese
news reported
everyday by foreign journalists,
and I feel
that the proper understanding
between our
two friendly countries is the
way which leads
to further reinforcement. I do
hope that
Mr. Issa will report, besides
the merely
positive side of the Japan story, the negative unflinchingly, with his
professional and experienced
eyes. I am quite confident that the esteemed chief
editor will find a way to draw
a true picture
of Japan from the point of view of the Omani diplomat
with the sense of the businessman.
During this trip, Mr. Issa will have the
opportunity to interview His Excellency ARIMA, Representative
of the Government of Japan, to
discuss the
bilateral relations and the international
situation in the Middle East . Another important interview has been arranged
to talk about trade and investment
at the
Ministry of Economy, Trade and
Industry of
Japan. There will be also interviews
with
the friendship associations,
research institutes
both governmental and private,
and Japanese
business people.
In addition to the official meeting
in Tokyo , Mr. Issa will have the chance to visit
Hiroshima where the world's first atomic bomb was dropped
in August 6, 1945 ; and Kyoto , the ancient capital of Japan and home of the imperial court for 1,100 years, from 794 to 1868.
The Embassy of Japan has tried to create
and widen multi-layer relationships
between
Japan and the Sultanate of Oman besides the strong
economic and trade partnership.
I hope that
this visit will be of strides
for mutual
understanding.
