Introduction of roles and the explanation about the rules and procedures of the contest Contest Chair: TM Hayashi *Explanation about the requirements for official contestants: A contestant should be a member in good standing of the club and should be a member who have completed at least 6 speeches in the Communication and Leadership Program manual prior to any levels of contests, according to the rules of Toastmasters International. Chief Judge: TM Fukumoto *Explanation about the requirements for contestants and the rules of in-house speech and judges: *All present members are requested to serve as judges except for speakers and contest chair. Evaluation should be done equally without taking the record of time into account. It will be considered at the final decision. TM Noguchi was selected as a winner and as a contestant for the Area 11 Speech Contest and TM Hashida was selected as an alternate, based on the requirements for contestants and the results of voting by judges. 4. Business Session The report on the Division A officerfs training (Attendance: TMs Fukumoto, Matsushima, and Negi) (1) Introduction of new course Toastmasters International introduced new leadership manuals, the 10-project Competent Leadership manual. Members completing this manual will receive the new Competent Leadership award awards. (2) Change in Division and Area levels Tsukuba Toastmasters Club will belong to Area 22 of Division B from July, 2006. (3) Application for the Japanese speech contest This year, our club can send one contestant to the Japanese speech contest. Members who want to be a contestant are requested to make an application by March 19th. (4) Membership recruitment To maintain the healthiness of clubs, each club was encouraged to enhance membership recruitment.
