***********************************************
Though for the
Day TM Kaneko
Astronaut Hoshide is about to
complete his
mission on the international space station
before
returning to earth. His skills in
performing his work are excellent and
are
very fascinating to the Japanese people to
see, especially
those who live in Tsukuba,
which is Hoshide's home town.
The other
day, the Hi-vision picture of the full
Earth from the moon, which was
taken by
JAXA and NHK, was shown on their web site.
The Earth
appeared with a backdrop of the
dark universe, looking very beautiful
and
very fragile, like a shining jewel or a drop
of
water.
We have repeatedly damaged the Earth in
many
ways in the name of progress so far.
Reflecting on the miracle that we
are here
on the Earth, It's high time we reconsidered
what is
progress and what is not.
We can not continue to injure the Earth
any
more or we will all suffer for our folly.
I'd like to believe
the wisdom of human-beings.
Letfs stop being selfish.
Let's work
together to save the Earth for us
and our descendants.
