<About The Hiroshima-Oman Friendship Association>
Establishment and our mission
The Hiroshima-Oman Friendship Association was established in October in 1996 to deepen the bond of the friendly relationship and intercourse between the Sultanate of Oman and Hiroshima citizens, which was built up through the 12th Asian Games Hiroshima 1994. Thereafter, we’ve committed to contribute to further development of our educational and cultural interactions with the Sultanate of Oman.
Activities
1. Collecting information and materials on Oman and providing them to Hiroshima citizens
2. Holding of various lectures, seminars and exhibitions on Oman
3. Helping cross-cultural exchanges among young people in Hiroshima and Oman
4. Establishing of educational and cultural exchanges
5. Other activities based on our mission

23 July 2003 Mr.Hiromichi Yoshikawa, first secretary of Embassy of Japan in Oman, visited the Yasuhigashi community center.
Mr. Yoshikawa, came to Hiroshima, visited our association, before he was leaving for his new post in Oman.......more
December 2003 His Excellency Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs came to Hiroshima.
H.E.Alawi came to Hiroshima after talking with Kawaguchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs on December 2. He had a time with members of our Friendship Association, visited Miyajima and the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum.........moreAlso, we’ve been hosting many VIPs from the Sultanate of Oman occasionally and holding various welcome receptions for them.
